A popular ‘mystery’ Islay single malt. bottled by Ian Macleod Distillers, under the Smokehead label. This is always a very popular whisky whenever we have this in stock. On the nose, thick heavy woodsmoke and earthy peat. Spicy and sweet with lemon, ginger and a slight jaminess. The palate is big, bold and peaty. Peppery and smokey with a slight sweetness mid-palate before more soot and ash comes to the fore again. The finish is warming and sweet with slight citrus and seaweed notes.
