Sailor’s Home The Haven Irish Whiskey

A new product to the market, this single pot still Irish whiskey from Sailor’s Home is made in much the same way as a scotch single malt but using a combination of malted and un-malted barley. Sailors Home don’t have their own distillery so instead source their whiskey from Irish distilleries and under the watchful eye of legendary whiskey maker Jack O’Se they manage maturation and blending. The Haven has been matured in a mix of oloroso sherry casks and ex-bourbon barrels, the former being atypical for an Irish, but resulting in a bigger, juicier style of whisky than you might normally expect from the Emerald Isle. We love it.
